Hygiene Visits are Necessary
You say you brush and floss your teeth meticulously each day. But sometimes there are hard-to-reach places that get missed, such as the grooves of back teeth. No matter where plaque and bacteria build up, it will eventually cause decay. Plaque hardens into tartar, which can only be removed with a professional cleaning. We recommend having your teeth cleaned by a hygienist once or twice a year to keep cavities from forming. If tartar develops below the gumline, it can cause periodontal (gum) disease, which can affect serious health conditions.
